Counselling & Psychotherapy for Parents
Psychotherapy and counselling are talking therapies that can be hugely beneficial in helping you understand and process your emotions, as well as learn new coping mechanisms to move forward from the challenges you’re facing in life.

The perinatal period—the time around conception, pregnancy, birth, and the early years with your baby—can be incredibly challenging for many parents. In fact, 1 in 4 mothers and 1 in 10 fathers are diagnosed with a mental health issue during this time, and many more struggle without a formal diagnosis.

Whether you have a diagnosis or are finding it hard to cope it’s important to seek help. Without treatment, these mental health issues can become long-term, affecting many areas of your life and leading to unnecessary suffering. Counselling and psychotherapy are widely recognised as effective treatments for perinatal mental health issues and are recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.

Client Feedback
— Katie, new mother
"After my baby was born, I started having distressing intrusive thoughts that left me feeling terrified and ashamed. I was constantly worried about things going wrong, and I couldn’t get the thoughts out of my head. I felt so isolated, thinking I was the only one going through this. Rosie provided a safe space where I could talk openly without judgment. She helped me understand what was happening and gave me tools to manage these thoughts in a way that made them less overwhelming. Through our sessions, I began to feel more like myself again and more confident as a parent. I can’t recommend Rosie enough for anyone struggling with intrusive thoughts or OCD during parenthood."
"During my second pregnancy, I was consumed with anxiety and an overwhelming fear of giving birth again. I couldn't enjoy my pregnancy and was constantly worried about everything that could go wrong. Working with Rosie was a lifeline. She helped me understand my fears and gave me practical techniques to manage my anxiety. By the time my due date came, I felt so much more confident and in control. I can’t thank Rosie enough for guiding me through such an anxious time and helping me find the strength I needed."
— Laura, mother of two
"After the birth of my daughter, I expected to feel joy, but instead, I felt completely overwhelmed and disconnected. I was exhausted, emotional, and found it so hard to adjust to being a new mum. I didn’t want to admit that I was struggling with postnatal depression, but when I started working with Rosie, everything changed. She helped me understand that it was okay to feel this way and gave me the space to talk about my feelings without guilt. Through our sessions, I gradually started to feel more like myself and learned ways to manage the overwhelm. Rosie’s support helped me find balance , and I now feel much more confident as a parent. I will always be grateful to Rosie for giving me a safe space during a really tough time and helping me get through it all, she is the most lovely therapist who I whole heartedly recommend."
