Trauma Therapy For Parents & Birth Partners
Pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood can bring a range of emotions, and for some, these include distressing experiences that leave lasting emotional impacts. Traumatic events—like a complicated birth, pregnancy loss, or medical emergencies—can affect both parents. Bystander trauma, where dads or birth partners witness distressing events, can also result in intense fear and anxiety. You may feel closely bonded with your baby yet remain overwhelmed by what happened.

Therapy provides a safe space to talk about your experiences, but there is no pressure to share the details of what happened, as this can often feel too distressing. The therapy I offer is effective without you ever needing to retell the detail of traumatic events.
Trauma can manifest in various ways, and you may be experiencing some of the following symptoms:

-
Heightened anxiety and hypervigilance
-
Flashbacks or intrusive memories
-
Difficulty bonding with your baby
-
Numbness or feeling disconnected
-
Trouble sleeping or relaxing
-
Avoiding situations related to the trauma
-
Panic attacks or persistent worry
-
Fear of having another child or avoiding intimacy

How I Can Help You
As a Human Givens Psychotherapist, my trauma recovery approach is rooted in emotional safety. I understand that discussing traumatic events can feel overwhelming, so there’s no pressure to retell the details of what happened. In fact, the therapy I offer is effective without you ever needing to retell or share the specifics of the trauma.

Instead, I focus on helping your brain naturally process traumatic memories. Through a gentle and supportive approach, we work together to reduce the emotional intensity of the trauma, helping you recover as swiftly as possible. This method is particularly helpful for those who may find it too distressing to talk about their experiences. My goal is to ensure that you feel safe and supported throughout your theraputic process, while addressing trauma in a way that feels manageable and effective.

Addressing Trauma Without Having to Talk About It: Through Human Givens therapy, we gently process traumatic memories, reducing their emotional intensity. This allows you to move forward without having to talk about the distressing details repeatedly.

"Therapy with Rosie has truly changed my life. Before I started, my trauma and anxiety had stolen those precious first weeks with my baby. Now, I feel lighter, more connected, and can enjoy motherhood. I’m excited about the future with my baby and partner, and I can’t thank Rosie enough."
"After a traumatic miscarriage, I was overwhelmed with fear and couldn’t even think about trying to conceive again. With just four sessions, Rosie helped me feel like myself again without having to relive the trauma. I was able to release the fear that had been holding me back, and I’m so happy to say I’ve since had a beautiful little boy. Rosie’s support gave me the confidence and peace of mind I needed to move forward with my life

"After my partner’s difficult birth, I felt overwhelmed with anxiety and constantly feared something might go wrong. I didn’t know how to talk about what I had seen, but Rosie made me feel comfortable from the very start. She created a space where I felt safe and never pressured to share more than I was ready for. Her approach allowed me to process everything at my own pace, and now I feel much more present and able to enjoy being a father."
